Primary Test Date: Wednesday October 21, 2026
Arrive To Campus: 8:35AM - Normal student campus entry time.
PSAT/NMSQT Testing Room Check In: 9:05 AM - Normal classroom start time.
PSAT/NMSQT Start Time: 9:15 AM - Proctor starts reading instructions and starts the test.
PSAT/NMSQT Standard Test Duration: 2 Hours 14 Minutes + Break College Board Testing Time
What is the PSAT/NMSQT?
The PSAT (Preliminary SAT) is a standardized practice test created by the College Board and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation that helps students prepare for the SAT and qualify for major academic scholarships.
National Merit Scholarships: High scores during the junior year on the PSAT/NMSQT can qualify students for prestigious National Merit Scholarships and recognition.
Why take the PSAT/NMSQT?
SAT Practice: It gives students a realistic preview of the testing environment and highlights academic strengths and weaknesses before taking the actual SAT.
What is a good PSAT/NMSQT Score?
Good Score: 1200+
National Merit Level (Top 1%): 1400+

How long should students study before the PSAT/NMSQT?
20 to 40 hours or 1 to 2 hours each day.
