P-TECH
P-TECH is for students in grades 9–12 who want to get a head start in a career where skilled employees are in high demand. It is a four-year, career-focused program providing students with real-world work experience through internships in fields connected to their classroom studies.
LBJ Early College P-TECH students obtain a health industry certification in some of the most in-demand health science fields.

LBJ Early College High School is committed to creating opportunities to help students achieve beyond the classroom. Our goal is to graduate every student enrolled in CTE and Career Launch, a P-Tech partner, in Health Sciences with a high school diploma and a guaranteed job.

Health Science Certification Programs
The LBJ Early P-TECH Pre-Health Sciences program is for students interested in a career in the health science industry. Health Sciences offers a comprehensive sequence designed to prepare students for the State Board Exams required to obtain a license in the healthcare field through partnerships with Austin Community College and Ascension Seton. As part of the program, students will participate in work-based learning activities that include job shadowing, internships, being mentored by an industry expert and real-world industry challenge projects.
