At LBJ Early College High School, students are not only preparing for college tomorrow, they are attending college today. LBJ offers students the opportunity to graduate with a diploma in one hand and an associate’s degree in the other—for free. As a school, LBJ’s mission remains closely connected to its namesake, President Lyndon B. Johnson. His legacy—a vision for equity in education and dreams for social justice—are embodied in today’s Jaguars.

LBJ ECHS offers students the opportunity to graduate with a diploma in one hand and an associate degree in the other—for free. Through a partnership with Austin Community College, every student can enroll in college- level classes and prepare to compete in the workforce.

LBJ is a vibrant community of learners and leaders in East Austin. The school is home to competitive academics, athletics and arts programs, including “The One, The Only,” the highly decorated LBJ Jaguar Band. LBJ has one of the strongest athletic programs in the state, our football team is a state contender, and several football and basketball players receive D1 scholarships. LBJ also offers career and technical education classes in audio and video production, digital electronics, business and health sciences.
